The ban on plastic bags in the unincorporated areas is now in place and County leaders are making sure residents have access to replacement bags and info about the ban. 4. The $56 million Civic Park project is moving along, brining much-needed green space to Downtown Los Angeles. 5. Junior golfers will be hitting the links for less green this month at the County’s numerous public courses. 6. The County Library’s summer reading program is giving kids a chance to read a book and participate in a community service project at the same time. 7. School’s out and pools are open with 14 County pools providing recreational swimming for kids until September.
